She also has a Jack Russell named Maya and two Amazon parrots named Paco and Lola. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her son to the park and working out.
Kelsey has always wanted to work with animals, and she believes that there’s no better place to do so than at Arbor Pet Hospital. She loves to make our clients happy, and she feels a great sense of accomplishment when our team is able to help an ailing animal get back on the road to wellness. Kelsey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Nova Southeastern University, and she is the proud parent of a cat named Boots. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys going to the beach and traveling.
Teresa re-joined the Arbor family in December of 2014 and is our practice manager. After pursuing her love of veterinary medicine and animals, she earned her associate's degree from Broward Community College and her bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Florida (UF). She's also completed continuing education courses in transfusion medicine. While a student at UF, she discovered a rare intestinal parasite in manatees with the assistance of her parasitology professor. She considers the experience one of her greatest accomplishments. Teresa has over seven years of experience as a veterinary technician, including one year of avian research assisting at UF. As our manager at Arbor Pet Hospital, she welcomes the many learning opportunities that come with every day. She also loves witnessing the clients' appreciation after their pets have been treated. Teresa is happily married to Billy and has two daughters, Madison and Emily. She also has 2 dogs and 5 cats. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, going to the beach, crafting, and doing anything with family.
Sophia joined our team in 2016. The health and well-being of animals has always been important to her, and she loves being able to help our furry patients every day. Sophia has 5 cats that she loves to pieces: Sam, Socks, Kronos, Pudge, and Panther. She graduated from Deerfield Beach High School, and in her free time, Sophia enjoys relaxing at the beach and spending time with her family.
After "playing vet" as a child, working in the veterinary field became the inevitable career path for Buffy. She joined the Arbor Pet Hospital technician team in March of 1990, after attending college at Nova University as well as numerous continued education classes. With the unpredictable nature of a veterinary hospital, she loves that there's something new every day and that no two days on the job are alike. She also loves the family-like setting of the hospital and being able to assist the doctors in surgery. Buffy is married with a daughter and a son. She also has two dogs named Woody and Dixie and a cat named Frankie. When she's not helping clients and pets at work, she enjoys relaxing at the beach.
Theresa has always admired the unconditional love of companion animals and the rare bond they share with humans, which is why she chose to become a veterinary technician. She joined our team in August of 1999 with a bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. She also regularly attends continuing education classes. In her 23+ years as a technician, she's worked with orthopedic specialists and emergency cases. She also serves as our dental expert and has been performing dental procedures for over 20 years, but her favorite aspects of being a technician are surgery and emergency cases. She also has a soft spot for geriatric patients and considers it an honor to care for them, especially at the end of their lives, when you know they've only made it to where they are because of love.
Theresa shares her home with her boyfriend, Mike, and many pets, including dogs, 2 mini pigs, rabbits, and land tortoises. In her spare time, she works with giant tortoises, including endangered Galapagos Island tortoises. One of her most memorable experiences involved loading a 600-pound tortoise into an ambulance. She also spends her spare time with her boyfriend, bike riding, going to the beach, and doing yoga. Aside from pets, she loves tattoos and elephants. She once rode on the back of an elephant in the jungle of Chiang Mai in Thailand!
Kasey became part of the Arbor Pet Hospital team in 2016. She’s currently studying Biological Sciences at Florida Atlantic University. Kasey has always enjoyed working with animals, and she has aspirations to become a veterinarian one day. She loves that she gets to work with animals each day and be part of such a great team. Kasey has two Basset hounds named Daisy and Lucy, a bird named Marley, and a rabbit named Nibbles. When she’s not working, Kasey can be found reading, painting, or relaxing at the beach.
Harley joined our team in June 2017 and works as an assistant. One of her favorite aspects of the job is being able to work with a variety of different species and breeds. She is particularly good at holding and helping animals stay calm for procedures while they’re with us. At home, she has a beagle/poodle mix named Marley and a fish, while at her parents she as 4 other dogs to play with. When she isn’t helping animals at our hospital, she occupies her time camping, crafting, watching Netflix, and with her favorite book (and movie!) The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. She considers China to be one of two of the most amazing places she’s ever been—with Arbor Pet Hospital being the other! You can tell she loves what she does: with a million dollars, she’d be quick to open an animal hospital and sanctuary!
Karolayn has been with our team since October 2017. Before her time with us, she interned at a preventive care clinic, where she started at 17 years old. She’s been in the veterinary field ever since! Her favorite aspect of her job is the endless opportunity to care for animals. That passion doesn’t stop at our doors—at home she has a dog, cats, turtles, as well as a canary. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, drawing, playing music, and of course spending time with her family: both furry and otherwise!
