Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM)
Teresa
Teresa started in the Veterinary Industry in 2004 and is our practice manager. After pursuing her love of veterinary medicine and animals, she earned her associate's degree from Broward Community College and her bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of Florida (UF). She has completed continuing education in all aspects of veterinary medicine including transfusion medicine, veterinary technical trainings, and practice management. While a student at UF, she discovered a rare intestinal parasite in manatees with the assistance of her parasitology professor. She considers the experience one of her greatest academic accomplishments. Teresa has been in the veterinary industry since graduating high school with many years as a veterinary technician, including one year of avian research assisting at UF. As our manager at Arbor Pet Hospital, she welcomes the many learning opportunities that come with every day. She also loves witnessing the clients' appreciation after their pets have been treated. Teresa is happily married to Billy and has two daughters, Madison and Emily. She also shares her home with dogs, cats, and a bird. In her spare time, she enjoys boating, going to the beach, crafting, and doing anything with family.
Customer Service Representatives
Karolayn
Karolayn has been with our team since October 2017. Before her time with us, she interned at a preventive care clinic, where she started at 17 years old. She’s been in the veterinary field ever since! Her favorite aspect of her job is the endless opportunity to care for animals. That passion doesn’t stop at our doors—at home she has a dog, cats, turtles, as well as a canary. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, drawing, playing music, and of course spending time with her family: both furry and otherwise!
Sharon
Sharon earned a degree in cosmetology from the Atlantic Technical Institute. She is a great lover of all animals and she enjoys showing love to all our house cats! Her favorite part of her current role is writing in the patient chart (lol)!
Sharon lives with her partner, Mike, and together they have two cats named Stella and Thor. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends at the pool, playing softball, being creative, any activity outdoors, and reading books on her patio with her cats. She especially enjoys the Harry Potter books (and movies!). Additionally, she does hair and makes jewelry. One of the best places she’s visited in her travels has been Red Rocks in Colorado. If she won a million dollars, she would donate it toward ending world hunger as well as toward helping animals in bad environments.
Selena
Selena’s interest in animal medicine stemmed from her childhood love of the movie Finding Nemo. She is currently working on her B.S. in marine biology and pre-vet. Her favorite aspects of working at Arbor Pet Hospital are learning new things and getting to better understand the health and needs of animals in general. It’s interesting how similar they can be to humans! Selena also has a soft spot for Dachshunds and loves seeing them come into the practice. One of the rewarding parts of her job is being able to help improve the life of her own dog, a 16-year-old Dachshund named Roxy.
Selena’s family comes from El Salvador, and she is a proud 1st-generation college student. In her free time, she loves to read and paint, but she likes dabbling in all kinds of creative hobbies. In the not-so-distant future, Selena hopes to become a whale doctor and take part in animal conservation in some capacity, be it as a vet or as the owner of an animal sanctuary.
Sami
Sami has had pets all her life and always wanted to be a veterinarian and work with animals. She’s working her way up in the field and hoping to decide whether going to vet school is the best path. Sami has a B.S. in exercise science with a minor in biology from Truman State University. She also has her Cat Friendly Veterinary Advocate Certificate from the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Getting to see the cutest pets every day is one of Sami’s favorite things about working here at Arbor Pet Hospital; they always make her smile. She also loves her coworkers--everyone is kind, supportive, and funny.
At home, Sami has 3 cats, Cuda, Bel, and Pinto. They all have different personalities, with Cuda being very social, Bel being stubbornly independent, and Pinto being snuggly and talkative. When she isn’t working, Sami enjoys reading, going to the beach, trying new breweries, and watching sports.
Veterinary Nurse Technician
Buffy
After "playing vet" as a child, working in the veterinary field became the inevitable career path for Buffy. She joined the Arbor Pet Hospital support staff in March of 1990, after attending college at Nova University as well as numerous continued education classes. With the unpredictable nature of a veterinary hospital, she loves that there's something new every day and that no two days on the job are alike. She also loves the family-like setting of the hospital and being able to assist the doctors in surgery. Buffy is married with a daughter and a son. She also has two dogs and one cat. When she's not helping clients and pets at work, she enjoys relaxing at the beach.
Heather
Heather is currently attending St. Petersburg College to earn her CVT (Veterinary Technician Certification) and has earned her Associates in Science from Palm Beach State College. She has a strong passion for working with animals and loves having amazing coworkers who make her job even better! Her favorite thing about working in veterinary medicine is being able to work closely with patients and see them feel better following treatment.
Heather has a dog named Bear and a cat named Sparkles. Her favorite thing to do in her spare time is relax at home in peace and quiet. She’s not a big reader, but she loves scary movies.
Jhanne
Jhanne joined our support staff in 2015. She is a single mom with two sons, Kawehi and Rafael. She enjoys going for runs and working out as well as taking the boys to the park and letting them burn off some energy! Jhanne has been a Polynesian dancer for the majority of her life. She started when she was 2 years old and currently stills performs part-time. One personal accomplishment she is proud of is finally traveling to new places! In 2019, she has been to both Colorado and Hawaii. She loved Hawaii and thought the sunsets were breathtaking and the mountains were amazing.
Katie
Katie attended Virginia Tech, where she received her Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. She first started out as a nursing major, then changed her mind and decided that animals were the better route. Katie learns something new every day at the hospital, and she absolutely loves helping our patients and working with an amazing team. She’s well-loved by her fellow staff and a great team player.
Katie and her fiancé have a dog, Nyla, and 2 cats, Angel and Dunkin. Outside of work, Katie’s favorite spare time activities include going to the beach, hitting the gym, and sleeping.
Veterinary Nurse Assistant
Hayley
Hayley has loved animals ever since she was a child and always had pets. It has also always been her dream to work in the veterinary field to help animals in any way she could. She is interested in receiving her Veterinarian Technician certification and is pursuing schooling. She has definitely done so much already to make life better for animals, as she has fostered over 50 cats and dogs and found loving homes for all of them! As a member of our team, Hayley loves how every day is different and an opportunity to learn something new. One of her favorite things to do in her role at Arbor is collecting samples and analyzing them to help our sick patients get better. She has completed multiple courses in diagnostics including Idexx sample collection, 4DX testing, and pathology slides.
Hayley’s family resides in the Bahamas, along with 7 dogs and 5 cats. Here in Florida, she has 2 dogs, a Bull Mastiff named Marley and a Newfoundland Australian Shepherd named Maggie, and a cat named Loki. In her spare time, Hayley enjoys studying veterinary medicine, going to church and Bible study, playing piano, watching crime documentaries, going out in the boat, and fishing.
Animal Care Providers
Harley
Harley joined our team in June 2017 and works as an assistant. One of her favorite aspects of the job is being able to work with a variety of different species and breeds. She is particularly good at holding and helping animals stay calm for procedures while they’re with us. At home, she has a beagle/poodle mix named Marley and a fish, while at her parents she as 4 other dogs to play with. When she isn’t helping animals at our hospital, she occupies her time camping, crafting, watching Netflix, and with her favorite book (and movie!) The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. She considers China to be one of two of the most amazing places she’s ever been—with Arbor Pet Hospital being the other! You can tell she loves what she does: with a million dollars, she’d be quick to open an animal hospital and sanctuary!
Meghan
Meghan earned an associate degree from Broward Community College. She chose to pursue a career in veterinary medicine because providing care for animals is the most rewarding feeling ever! At our animal hospital, she loves the way our team works as a family. Everyone really gives their all. She also enjoys getting the chance to be hands-on and provide much-needed care to our patients. Meghan is great at being thorough and showing love to all our animals!
Meghan lives with her husband, Anthony, and together, they have three cats named Gucci, Greta, L.B., and Gizmo as well as one dog named Benny. In her spare time, she loves listening to music, attending concerts, and spending time with her husband and pets. One of the things she is very proud of is planning and putting on their entire wedding by themselves! She is also very proud to be working in the field she has always wanted to be a part of. If she won a million dollars, she would buy a house with property in North Carolina and open an animal rescue/sanctuary. One her favorite movies is May It Last: A Portrait of the Avett Brothers.
Audrey
Audrey works with us seasonally as she is a full time student at the University of Tenessee. She has always been interested in helping animals in need! She loves working at a place where she meets all kinds of different dogs, cats, and other animals. She enjoys helping them stay calm and assisting others. Her favorite activity at work is walking the dogs because she loves seeing how happy they get and how quickly their personality comes out! One of the most interesting experiences she had was seeing one of the largest Great Danes she’s ever met and finding out he was almost two times her weight!
At home, Audrey has one dog named Callie, a hedgehog named Dipper, and two fish named Lemon and Lime. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, taking her to the beach, and watching TV. Audrey also loves to dance — she’s been dancing for 12 years and counting! She has also had the opportunity to travel to Mancora in Northern Peru and would like to travel to Australia and explore their reefs, the outback, and go to Tasmania. One of her favorite books (and movies!) is Racing in the Rain.
Angela
Angela chose the veterinary field because there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing sick animals leave our clinic healthier and happier. Working closely with animals and amazing coworkers is one of her favorite things about being a part of our team, along with simply getting to be around pets every day. Angela has a few precious fur babies of her own; a Cattle dog named Skyy and 2 cats, Cosmo and Fauna. Her cats are partial to people food and Skyy loves going swimming at the beach. Angela loves spending her free time at the beach, too, and working out at the gym.
Riley
Riley always wanted to work with animals, so she couldn’t have chosen a more fitting job. There are a lot of things she loves about her role, from getting involved in helping sick or injured animals and making them feel better, to making a difference and supporting her fellow team members. But most of all, helping animals and in some cases saving lives is the biggest reward for Riley. She hopes to eventually build a career in the marine veterinary field (her brother is a marine biologist) and being part of the Arbor team is helping her achieve this dream. At home, Riley has 2 dogs named Bear and Pickles, and 2 cats, Apollo and Tess. In her free time, she likes hanging out at the beach.
