Does Your Pet Have Allergies in Fort Lauderdale? Our Pet Dermatology Services Can Help

The climate of South Florida lends itself to tropical weather that isn't always easy on our allergies. Environmental factors such as mold, grass, and pollen contribute to allergies in our pets similar to ours. Many pets develop a skin condition called atopic dermatitis. The symptoms of this condition that turns chronic if left untreated are dry, scaly, red skin that leads to itching. In some cases, itching leads to secondary infections that require more extensive treatment.

While atopic dermatitis is a common allergic reaction in pets, there are many different skin conditions that stem from different sources. Practicing owner Dr. Louis S. Mogyoros has a strong interest in treating pet allergies and we're fully equipped to run tests to determine the root cause of skin concerns. If your pet has a fungal or parasitic infection, we work to treat and prevent their condition accordingly. If your pet does have a chronic skin allergy, we're knowledgeable on the most current medications that effectively prevent atopic dermatitis. Why Accreditation Matters

The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) states that only 12-15% of animal hospitals hold accreditation. This is significant because there are no governing organizations for animal hospitals outside AAHA and state minimum requirements. We practice high-quality pet medicine and volunteered for accreditation to show it. AAHA representatives inspected us on a full battery of standards that include sanitation, equipment, safety protocols, and client communications. Every three years, we are reinspected on around 900 different standards that change according to research and advancements in veterinary medicine's best practices. Arbor Pet Hospital is proud to be AAHA accredited and associated with the organization that has been elevating the care of companion animals since 1933.
